What is new ?

The second version of the product brings new features and improvements while keeping the features that made the first version so successful.

New Features

Most new features have been implemented keeping in mind a common goal: make them accessible without having to freeze the simulation. This is because many virtual pilots fly online, and virtual controllers do not like to see an aircraft stopped in the middle of the sky…

  1. Real-Time Sound Faders Control
Depending on the aircraft you fly, you often have to adjust the sound volume for each sound source (engines, ATC, environment, …) This feature is called “Real-Time” because it lets you adjust the sound faders without freezing fs9. If you use the pull-down menus to access this volume control window, you will obviously freeze fs9. This is why you can use a key shortcut (Ctrl-F by default, configurable) to avoid freezing the animation. The sound volume window appears and you can adjust any sound fader. You can move the window by holding the mouse in an inactive area. The position of the window is saved when you close it.
  2. Real-Time Channel Volume Control
If, like me, you have several sound devices for several sound channels, this feature should be useful for you. For example, I use a USB headset for TeamSpeak communication during online flights. Without freezing the fs9 animation, you can access the channel control window to adjust the sound volume for each channel. You can use the key shortcut (Ctrl-V by default, configurable) instead of the pull-down menus to avoid freezing the animation.
  3. Real-Time Settings
A new popup window lets you access fs9 settings without stopping the fs9 animation. A key shortcut (Ctrl-T by default, configurable) is used to popup the window, which gives you access fs9 settings dynamically, such as view settings (gradual spot view, spot view distance, …), realism settings (auto-coordination, unlimited fuel, crash ignorance, …), and scenery settings.

Another new feature has been added, which is certainly the greatest in this version 2: the Multi-Monitor manager.
So many people have complained about the storage and restoration of multiple monitor panel configurations. It has been a nightmare for those cockpit builders whu must size and place the panel windows very accurately and want to store and restore the configuration easily. No nightmare any more with fs9 Toolbox v2, which adds the ability to fly in full-screen mode with multiple monitors.

Improved Features

Some existing features have been slightly improved:

  1. The Virtual Cockpit Camera driven by the mouse pointer does not stop when the screen edge is reached. When you move the mouse against the edge of the screen, you can keep moving it. Even if the mouse pointer will not move further, the VC Camera keeps moving according to the mouse movement.
  2. The Aircraft Database Builder (for the Aircraft Selector ) now allows you to delete a category.
  3. The pull-down menus have been re-organized to remain clear as the new features have been added. The Camera features are now grouped in a cascade menu that is easier to use.
